DIY: Blue Mason Jar

This DIY is not only one of my absolute favorite finds {because it involves making ordinary things look vintage-y} but this post is also with a very special bride to be and her groom, in mind. Enjoy! Get Creative!

Supplies:
-Clear glass mason jar
-Vitrea 160 : Turquoise or similar (which is a transparent color for glass and costs less than $5)
-Vitrea 160: Thinner or similar
-Fan Brush
-Small tupperware container
1. Clean the glass
2. Mix 1 pinky nail size scoop of Turquoise color with 1 dip of the fanbrush into the Thinner solution (do this mixing in a small plastic container or bowl.
3. Turn jar upside down and using thin brush strokes, apply the paint with the brush (Its okay if it looks cloudy and streaky)
4. Let it set for 24 hours
5. After it sets, bake at 375 degrees for 40 min and let it cool all the way (your brush strokes will disappear during this process)

 Poof! Gorgeous vase!

How to use it: the possibilities are endless, but here is how some of my favorite brides used them:

  3. I just did some google research and one girl who made them said that she used a pinky sized amount of the turquoise for about 6 jars.. so Id say quite a few. :)
